It was twelve years ago, on the top floor of a cold office building in a boring suburb of Portland, Oregon. Anders had long, beautiful hair and an exceptional laugh. Brie had an infectious smile and a familiar glint of the absurd in her eye.
We began carpooling to work for “convenience.” Eventually, Anders proposed a date - Beulahland Alehouse on NE 28th. Anders ordered a Bulleit bourbon and Brie had a Belgian beer. Soon we were sneaking kisses in the elevator up to work, bringing a little heart to that dreary office.
Shortly thereafter was Thanksgiving, which we spent together eating Thai food and getting tattoos. But we really fell in love that winter, on a spontaneous trip to Sayulita, Mexico. In the decade that followed up until our engagement on the 10th anniversary of that 2011 “Thai”nksgiving, we’ve shared countless other wacky adventures and designed ourselves a life of bohemian abandon.

Alvord Desert is a special place for us which is why we are excited to share it with you. What makes it special to us is the scenery and the general feeling of the environment. It’s beautiful, it’s sparse, it’s harsh, and it’s calming all at once.
On the playa we’ve enjoyed the hottest days of July, one bitter cold Thanksgiving (another weird BrieDers T-give), and many other incredible experiences in between.
We’d love for you to come with open minds and hearts to experience the captivating atmosphere of the Alvord Desert. It might be uncomfortable and challenging, and will take more preparation than your usual camping, but for those with true grit it will be unforgettable.
We are excited to celebrate our next chapter with our favorite people on a unique adventure and make memories together in our favorite place in Oregon.
